Blue hour The new Sixties models are presented in midnight blue

Since their first presentation in 2007, the Sixties models from Glashütte Original are not only very popular with vintage enthusiasts. The collection from the Saxon manufactory, reflects the exciting era of the 1960s in contemporary design: retro-modern, elegant and puristic. The distinctive details and the design of the individual clocks bring back the distinctive look of the 1960s to life, both distinctively and stylishly at the same time.

This year, the company is expanding the successful collection by two more timepieces in a particularly fascinating color scheme: the new versions of the Sixties and Sixties Panoramadatum models present themselves in a powerful midnight blue.

The vaulted dials made of nickel silver were galvanized in the company's dialwork manufac- ture and were sunk. In positions 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock are stylized Arabic numerals surrounded by a finely drawn white minutens scale. Lightly curved hour and minute hands made of white gold with Superluminova, as well as the discreet seconds hand, ensure perfect readability of the time. The puristic design of the watch is supported by exactly milled hour indexes.

In a 39 mm polished stainless steel case, the presented Sixties , while the Sixties panorama date has a case diameter of 42 mm. The white digits of the Panoramadatums, which is typical of Glashütte Original, are presented in this model with a perfectly harmonious blue background with the dial.

A specially shaped sapphire glass base, which was used for the first time at the Saxon manufactory in the Sixties collection, is also found in the two new models. In the case of the Sixties, this allows an extended view into the automatic caliber 39-52 or in the automatic caliber 39-47 of the Sixties Panoramadatum . Both calibers have a course duration of 40 hours and are highly refined according to the requirements of the Saxon watchmaker. Typical features of Glashütte watchmaking like polished edges, polished steel parts, swan neck fine adjustment, glash nut three-quarter-platter with stripes are here again, as well as a skeletal rotor with 21-carat-gold swing mass.

For the perfect 1960s look, the two models were equipped with a dark blue Louisiana alligator leather strap with decent scaling. A matt stainless steel pin buckle provides a good hold on the wrist.
